That 70s Bag

Christian Louboutin new Loubi54 cross body day bag, pays homage to the decadent days of Manhattan’s most famous nightclub of the 1970s, Studio 54.

The Loubi54 comes in bright colours

Originally unveiled as an evening clutch, the Loubi54 line was inspired by the mythical Studio54. One of the world’s most famous nightclubs from the 70s, this New York mecca of hedonism was hailed as a magical place of freedom, self-expression, and fashion. And like the regulars of this Manhattan nightclub, Christian Louboutin has always been an active player in Paris’s famous night life. As a habitué of Le Palace, the European equivalent of Studio54, he was immersed, from a very young age, in this wild and stimulating atmosphere. The Loubi54 line pays tribute to this legendary 70s club and Christian Louboutin’s love for nightlife.

The Loubi54 harks back to the days of Studio 54

As one of Christian Louboutin’s most recognizable and desirable lines, the Loubi54 features the Maison’s hallmark details and symbols. Each product is elegantly adorned by the signature CL moon crest logo. Formed of interlaced letters, it serves as an homage to Brazilian architect and furniture designer Oscar Niemeyer, considered by Christian Louboutin as the master of curves.

The Loubi54 is a cross body day bag with architectural details

With its Spring/Summer 24 collection, Christian Louboutin is introducing the new Loubi54 day bag. Featuring an adjustable leather strap, allowing it to be worn as a crossbody or over the shoulder, and a flap elegantly concealing its multiple compartments, this new bag recalls all of the typical fashionable details of the 70s. Crafted from buttery nappa leather this elegant and sophisticated look is characterized by its soft feel, with a refined, slightly matte finish and is lined with the Maison’s iconic Loubi red. The Loubi54 perfectly embodies Christian Louboutin’s signature craftsmanship and timeless approach to luxury which translates to highly coveted pieces for the woman of today.

Sleek, chic, and timeless - the Loubi54

Making its debut in exciting and colorful spring variations including acidulous blue and yellow, vibrant lilac and ivory white with iconic tone- on-tone or metallic CL logo, the Loubi54 crossbody is available in various couture iterations including BoumBoum strass and shiny laminated interlaced leather and will continue to welcome color and material variations throughout the year.

Lifestyle Insider is a kind of junction point, connecting people with diverse interests that touch on the more luxurious aspects of lifestyle – fashion, design, travel, food and spirits, art, watches and jewellery, cars, yachts, and aviation, and technology. People today don’t fit into boxes and categories. In our individual ways, we are interested in diverse themes, products, and the challenges that face our world today. You will judge how well this effort of mine caters to your passions and proclivities.

Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.

It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.

A bit about me:
A luxury and fashion journalist with 25 years of experience in publishing and magazine journalism, I have edited some of India’s top fashion and luxury magazines. I got my BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley, and went on to receive my Master’s in English and French from the University of Strasbourg, France. I have also studied German and Film. I live in Gurugram, India, and look forward to once again exploring our world with a new-found freedom.
