A master of major complications and known to watch collectors everywhere, Antoine Preziuso, founder of the 40-year old Antoine Preziuso Geneve brand presents his new creation, the TTR3 Blue Equalizer Frequencies.
This unique watch in 18 kt white gold contains 233 sapphires of over 24 carat in total, in rare blue royal, baguette-cut, invisible mounting, with three solitary trillion sapphires floating on the dial, beside the three tourbillons.
The Tourbillon of Tourbillons movement, a core component for this brand, is the result of a collaboration between him and his son Florian that is at the heart of this brilliant watch. The timepiece has a Antoine Preziuso AFP-TTR-3X calibre, and three international patents that protect it, reflecting the creativity and innovation of ANTOINE PREZIUSO GENÈVE, where the project was brought to fruition after a decade of research.
Associating three tourbillons on a revolving plate gives the timepiece unmatched regularity, thanks to its triple differential. Each tourbillon completes one rotation per minute, at a faster rhythm than the plate, which completes six rotations per hour (one rotation every ten minutes). The speed at which the tourbillons rotate is accelerated by this double revolution. They are placed equidistant from the centre of the plate, with their respective axes forming an equilateral triangle. Isochronism is enhanced by the fact that the three cages rotate on different axes and at variable speeds.
The Triple-Differential or Synchronizer is unique both in its conception and the variety of tasks it performs. It must distribute constant energy from the double barrel to the three tourbillons through the centre of the watch, without affecting the axis of the hands; react if one the tourbillon stops working; and correct any variations in frequency. It contains the tiniest ball-bearing in the world, barely 1.6mm in diameter!
The closeness of the three independent regulating tourbillons – and their positions on the plate – enable them to resonate, and naturally adopt an identical frequency through a phenomenon known as “synchronism”. When the tourbillons start to resonate, their amplitude increases significantly – in a manner perceptible to the naked eye. The system as a whole thus forms a single revolutionary regulator, vibrating at a perfectly stable frequency of 3 Hz.
The generously sized 47 mm (and 14 mm thick) case has a sapphire back that allows the beholder to admire all the beauty and complexity of the patented movement, with three tourbillons to the front connected by a triple-differential gear rotating around each other in 60 seconds while the plate completes six rotations each hour.
The strap is in rubber and crocodile leather, with a buckle set with sapphires.
Lifestyle Insider is a kind of junction point, connecting people with diverse interests that touch on the more luxurious aspects of lifestyle – fashion, design, travel, food and spirits, art, watches and jewellery, cars, yachts, and aviation, and technology. People today don’t fit into boxes and categories. In our individual ways, we are interested in diverse themes, products, and the challenges that face our world today. You will judge how well this effort of mine caters to your passions and proclivities.
Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.
It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.
