“Let your soul stand cool and composed before a million universes.” Song of Myself, 48, Walt Whitman
In the long, hot days of summer, one longs for quietude, a retreat to a place of calm and tranquility. In the rush of daily life, it’s comfort that we seek at home. Almost as a reply to the vicissitudes of the times we live in, Good Earth has launched the aptly named STILL, its Summer 2020 Home collection. Inspired by the moments of stillness and their subtle charm, and the quietude that the season brings with it, the Delhi-based luxury maison’s designers delved into a slower rhythm to create a sublime range of home linen (there’s apparel too). “We delved into a slower rhythm to capture and cherish the unhurried languor of the season and celebrate the simple yet delightful everyday pleasures of relaxing, reflecting and connecting with the stillness inside you,” says Good Earth of its white on white Chand Bagh home linen collection.Good Earth's STILL, Summer 2020 Chand Bagh bed linen detail
Crafted from fine linen and cotton, Chand Bagh’s range of home line in soft tranquil ivories, creates the perfect vision of a summer in India. “To capture and celebrate the moments of stillness and slow summer spent indoors, our designers crafted a soothing array of all–white bedscape with delicate tonal embroidery that come alive on fine linens and transform your home into a tranquil summer retreat,” says Good Earth.“From the colour palette to the design patterns, the collection is a reflection of stillness, serenity, and calm.”
The Home collection features ivories and neutral tones with an interplay of stripes, vibrant prints and embroideries. “It includes an occasional burst of textured and embroidered cushions in chevron prints in timeless black and white patterns, whimsical patterns in cerise, handwoven ikat silk and suzani inspired embroideries featuring blooming florals, and delicate sequin and glass embellishments,” says Good Earth.Good Earth STILL Summer 2020 Chand Bagh collection, cushions in chevron and floral patterns
As a part of this Summer campaign, Good Earth has showcased the idea of STILLNESS via an IGTV video series on the brand’s Instagram, with three artists in different fields, as they explore Stillness in Motion, Stillness in Mind and Stillness in Life through a Kathak rendition by Shivani Varma, a still life painting session by Joya Mukerjee Logue, and a poem recital by Pranav Misra, respectively.Good Earth STILL Summer 2020 Chand Bagh collection, embellished and embroidered
Lifestyle Insider is a kind of junction point, connecting people with diverse interests that touch on the more luxurious aspects of lifestyle – fashion, design, travel, food and spirits, art, watches and jewellery, cars, yachts, and aviation, and technology. People today don’t fit into boxes and categories. In our individual ways, we are interested in diverse themes, products, and the challenges that face our world today. You will judge how well this effort of mine caters to your passions and proclivities.
Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.
It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.
