Swiss luxury watch brand Frederique Constant is celebrating its 35th anniversary by releasing two new versions of the Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture watch. The limited edition watch features a highly contemporary case made of 18-carat rose gold and petroleum blue dial with gold-coloured appliqué hour markers. It comes on an interchangeable, integrated strap in blue alligator leather with a nubuck finish, as well as being supplied with a blue rubber strap. The watch runs on the Manufacture FC-718 automatic caliber, which powers the watch with a 38-hour power reserve.

The rose gold version of the Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture is very exclusive, with only 35 watches produced. It features a brushed case with a polished bezel and crown, along with a petroleum blue dial that has engraved Earth symbols and lines of latitude and longitude. The watch also includes a sunray finish at 6 o’clock on the date disc. The limited edition watch also features interchangeable straps.

Founded in 1988 by independent entrepreneurs Aletta and Peter Stas, Frederique Constant creates, develops, assembles, and controls a wide variety of mechanical, quartz, and connected timepieces at its 6,200 m² Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates (GE). The company has designed 29 Manufacture calibers, including high complications such as the Tourbillon, Perpetual Calendar, and Flyback Chronograph. The company is currently present in nearly 3,000 points of sale in 120 countries around the world.

In addition to creating high-end luxury watches, Frederique Constant has also been at the forefront of innovation in watchmaking technology. The company launched the Horological Smartwatch in 2015, the first Swiss Made connected timepiece featuring a traditional appearance. The Classic Hybrid Manufacture, which combined mechanical movement with intelligent features and an integrated caliber analysis system, followed in 2018. In 2020, the Smartwatch Vitality line was introduced, equipped with a new generation built-in heart rate sensor, featuring a classic dial, combined with a digital display that is revealed on demand.

Lifestyle Insider is a kind of junction point, connecting people with diverse interests that touch on the more luxurious aspects of lifestyle – fashion, design, travel, food and spirits, art, watches and jewellery, cars, yachts, and aviation, and technology. People today don’t fit into boxes and categories. In our individual ways, we are interested in diverse themes, products, and the challenges that face our world today. You will judge how well this effort of mine caters to your passions and proclivities.

Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.

It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.

A bit about me:

I got my BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley, and went on to receive my Master’s in English and French from the University of Strasbourg, France. I have also studied German and Film. I live in Gurugram, India, and look forward to once again exploring our world with a new-found freedom.
