A Gin-licious Summer

Get set to raise your glass (or coupe) to World Gin Day with some yummy summer cocktails featuring the exotically spicy Monkey 47 Dry Gin, straight out of Germany’s Black Forest.

On the occasion of World Gin Day, we’ve conjured up some delectable cocktails by Pernod Ricard India, featuring the spicy, herb-flavoured Monkey 47 Dry Gin, created in the Black Forest in Germany, with 47 botanicals. Reach for your bottle of Monkey 47, and get set for some cocktail fun!

Hanky Panky featuring Monkey 47

HANKY PANKY

Glassware: Martini glass

Ingredients:
45 ml – Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
45 ml – Sweet Vermouth
7.5 ml – Fernet Branca

Garnish: Orange zest

Directions:
Stir over ice in a mixing glass till very cold. Strain into a coupette/martini glass. Garnish with an orange zest.

NEGRONI

Glassware: Rocks glass

Ingredients:
30 ml – Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
30 ml – Italian Bitter
30 ml – Sweet Vermouth

Garnish: Orange slice

Directions:
Stir all ingredients over ice, strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange slice.

Tom Collins featuring Monkey 47 Dry Gin

TOM COLLINS

Glassware: Collins glass

Ingredients:
45 ml – Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
20 ml – Lemon Juice
20 ml – Simple Syrup

Garnish: Slice of Lemon and orange wheel

Directions:
Build with ice into a Collins glass. Stir well and top with soda water. Garnish with lemon and orange wheel.

Monkey 47's The Bramble

BRAMBLE

Glassware: Rocks glass

Ingredients:
45 ml – Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
25 ml – Lemon Juice
15 ml – Sugar Syrup |
7.5 ml – Crème de Mure/Cassis

Garnish: Fresh blackberries

Directions:
Build Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin, lemon, and sugar in a rocks glass; add crushed ice. Mix well and crown again with crushed ice. Float crème de mure. Garnish with 2-3 fresh blackberries.

A bit about me:
A luxury and fashion journalist with 25 years of experience in publishing and magazine journalism, I have edited some of India’s top fashion and luxury magazines. I got my BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley, and went on to receive my Master’s in English and French from the University of Strasbourg, France. I have also studied German and Film. I live in Gurugram, India, and look forward to once again exploring our world with a new-found freedom.
