Art Magnum’s upcoming solo exhibition, ‘Touchable Emotions’ by G. Reghu, one of India’s most revered sculptors, from January 7 to February 15, 2025, curated by Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, celebrates the artist’s profound artistry and transformative journey.

Born in 1959 in Kilimanoor, Kerala, G. Reghu’s artistry is deeply rooted in his homeland's cultural and rural traditions. From his initial focus on stone sculpture to his evolution into terracotta and ceramic forms, Reghu’s work is a testament to his commitment to indigenous materials and human emotions. His collaborations with visionary architects Elizabeth and Laurie Baker, as well as mentorship from J. Swaminathan, profoundly influenced his creative philosophy. Over the years, Reghu has mastered techniques such as hollow modeling, slabbing, folding, coiling, and pinching, creating pieces that merge the utilitarian essence of pottery with the intimate contours of human forms.

Reghu’s work is an extraordinary blend of heritage and innovation,” says Saurabh Singhvi, Director of Art Magnum. “His sculptures evoke a profound sense of connection, reminding us of the shared human experience.
